What's new
Everything we've changed, newest first.
Plan it, then show up
— Schedule something for later, and Waddle now speaks eight languages.
- New: You can schedule an event. Give it a name and a time, and it shows up under Upcoming on your home page and on the public rooms page.
- New: Waddle is now in Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Dutch, Italian and Turkish. Pick yours under your profile picture — we remember it.
- New: Rooms carry a language flag, so you can find one where people speak yours. Set it when you make the room, or later in its settings.
- Improved: New message pops now show what was said, and tapping one takes you straight to that chat — on the home page or inside a room.
- Improved: The message and notification badges clear the moment you open the chat instead of a few seconds later.
- Improved: On a phone, drag with two fingers to scroll the shared screen. We say so when the browser is ready, in case you were wondering.
- Fixed: Saving room settings quietly wiped the room's language flag. It stays put now.
- Fixed: The Re-sync button had gone missing from the bar. It's back.
- Fixed: A second message from the same person didn't pop up — only the first one ever did.
Rooms make more sense now
— We moved the controls somewhere sensible and added a quick tour.
- New: We added a quick tour the first time you join a room. Skipped it? You can replay it from your profile.
- New: Everything about the room is behind the room icon now. Everything about you is under your picture.
- Improved: We redesigned the bar under the shared screen. Bigger buttons, and the reactions are easier to get at.
- Improved: Phones were hiding who has control and the Re-sync button. Both are there now.
- Improved: You can see the host's buttons even when you're not the host. We just mark them Host.
- Fixed: Invite links to private rooms were missing the code, so your friends got stuck at the prompt. Sorry about that one.
- Fixed: Control kept dropping out halfway through a session. It sorts itself out now.
- Fixed: Messages and Profile both opened the same thing.
Your room, your rules
— Hosts finally get to say who's allowed in.
- New: Make a room public or private whenever you want, and grab or change the join code.
- New: We check new room names ourselves now, so nothing horrible ends up on the public rooms page.
- Improved: Room names stop at 50 characters. Leave it blank and we'll just name it after you.
- Improved: When every machine is busy we tell you one is starting and that it can take a couple of minutes. It used to sit there saying nothing.
- Fixed: A dropped connection could lock you out of rooms for hours. It clears itself in under a minute now.
- Fixed: The maintenance banner slid off the top of the screen on a phone.
- Fixed: The site flashed a wall of ugly unstyled text before it loaded.
Have a look before you sign up
— Public rooms are open to everyone now, account or not.
- New: There's a public rooms page. Have a look and join one without an account. Live rooms show on the home page too.
- Improved: Signing up from an invite used to ask for less than the normal sign-up. It's the same form now.
- Fixed: Guess the Sketch kept playing to an empty room.
